About Inside Out

About This Blog:

The emotional and mental health of teens and adults today is more challenging than ever before. Anxiety and depression are at an all time high. The teen pregnancy rate is creeping back up. And, gang violence (and consequently, teen homicides) is rampant. In addition to all of this, given the current economic situation worldwide, it is tougher than ever on single parent as well as dual-income homes. Here, I will bring current news, information, commentary, and advice that adults as well as teens can use to ensure that 1) the next generation is properly equipped with a strong mental and emotional foundation as they enter adulthood and 2) that adults today can better cope with the mental and emotional issues they face daily. 3) relate current events with some “food for thought” we can use or ponder for our everyday lives.

NEW: We have also launched two initiatives we are very proud to share: The Beauty In / Beauty Out Tour is a fun and interactive tour that brings tips, advice, and info to beautify your “outside” as well as education and empowerment (based on “The C.H.A.M.P. Within” concepts) to beautify your “inside” as well.

The C.H.A.M.P. Community Project is our new nonprofit organization that uses The C.H.A.M.P. Within program as its basis to bring in-person workshops to groups, individuals, and organizations nationwide.

And…A Little About Me:

Author. Public Speaker. Coach. IT Consultant. Non-profit co-founder.  These are the words that describe where I am today.

However, my beginning was far from spectacular.

I grew up in a single parent home. My mother never got the chance to finish her education, and, being a single mother, she constantly struggled to make ends meet. This meant always having two or three jobs at a time so I could have the advantages that she never had. My mother lived her entire life just surviving and providing a better life for me, giving up her personal dreams in the process. She was resigned to being the best mother and provider she could be based on her limited resources and innate survival skills. However, she suffered from a deep depression, a distorted sense of happiness, and a general negative outlook on life. These things gradually consumed her and negatively shaped my viewpoints on life at a young age. In August of 2007, my mother passed away after 13 years of battling congestive heart failure. She died without realizing any of the personal goals she had in life. She was 73.

My mother’s story and personal struggles and my own experiences led to the creation of The C.H.A.M.P. Within program which is designed to enrich the lives of children from single parent homes, teens, as and adults by establishing helpful mental and emotional traits and habits early on. For adults, it is NEVER too late to turn your life around and this program will help you do just that!

Thanks for stopping by…hope you enjoy the helpful info and honest commentary you will find here!

Health, Prosperity, and Blessings to you all!
